Hello Reader ?,
Okay before we get right into it, let’s quickly update ourselves…. Is it me? or is 2020 really just not having it?! From coronavirus with increasing death tolls, to the death of Kobe Bryant and 8 others, and the earthquakes happening. I pray for; peace and comfort for the bereaved, health restored to the ill and protection for the rest of us.
With reminders that life can be fleeting, I am here to encourage you to PERMIT YOURSELF TO DREAM.
I know things haven’t gone as planned. I understand that you have been disappointed because expectations were not met. I totally can relate when you say you have lost steam and your dreams no longer look achievable but I ask you to once again PERMIT YOURSELF TO DREAM.
We are going to do a little exercise and it costs absolutely nothing (errr, okay, a bit of your time)
So let me walk you through this exercise. Grab a timer – you can use your phone, a pen and a paper. Now set your timer for 15 minutes, play some instrumental music and picture yourself living your best, ideal life. Shut out all the negative voices. In this mental space, there are no worries, no fears, no ifs, no doubts, no buts, no heartbreaks ?, no failures. Everything is working for you (you get the picture). Go ahead, set your timer, play good music, imagine and DREAM.
When the time is up, write down what you imagined, what pictures flashed through your mind? mind. (This modified exercise is culled from Stephanie Obi’s Fearless WEBINAR – by the way that webinar was a hit! Glad to have watched it with two of my friends.)
Now write, Just write it out! How does that feel? Do you feel somewhat empowered again? And this exercise is not a one-off thing. You can always go back to what you have written or you can in fact close your eyes and DREAM AGAIN.
You see, you can start to do your dreams now. You can identify the hindrances stopping you and actively start to confront them. You can take these dreams and break them down into SMART GOALS like I shared on my last blogpost (see link below). You can start to think about little steps you should take to achieve your dream in the long run. Before I go, let me give you a little gist about dreaming again.

I took time maybe about 2 or 3 days ago to just picture my life a.k.a Dream again ?. I wrote a couple of things down and when I was done, the question that dropped in my heart was “Is that all?” as if to say “are these your biggest dreams?” Then Ephesians 3 vs 20 came to mind. I just laughed at myself as I understood that God was saying to me, I literally have even bigger dreams for you. I am going to leave you with the Passion Translation of that scripture;
Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.
Ephesians 3: 20 TPT
Your dreams are valid and “doable” (in DDK’s words). Never doubt God’s mighty power. So once again, PERMIT YOURSELF TO DREAM!

With love,
Temidimples
