How y’all doing??! It’s your girl D-I-M-P-L-E-S. Okay 🙂 you can tell am just a little excited. I have something to share with you but first let me apologise for being off for so long (just in case you kept coming back to check).
So Here’s what I learnt recently (one of my friends says I love the book of Romans so much, oh well.. I guess)…Anyway Enjoy
Romans 2:24 (KJV) -For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
Paul was writing to the Jews about how God’s name was being “insulted” by the Gentiles as a result of the actions of the Jews. For me, this means how unbelievers have the audacity to talk about God in a bad light as a result of the way some of us acclaimed Christians portray ourselves.
Are we Christians being the light of the world as expected?, are we distinct from others in every way? – dressing, speech, attitude, etc. or are we causing unbelievers to insult God as a result of our friendship with the world? This doesn’t mean that sometimes we don’t make mistakes and get to act like the world does but do we continue that way or do we make deliberate effort to stay out of sin.
I am just encouraging us to indeed be good examples and show forth Christ’s light. So next time when you are tempted to wear that seductive dress (girl you know what I’m talking about), just say NO, or when you are pushed to curse/ use swear words – JUST MELLOW DOWN.
Prayer: Lord, please help me to be a beaming light in this dark world and may my life bring glory to You and not shame. Can I just slide in a prayer point for me – That God just gives me faith and helps me trust in Him completing for this new phase He’s taking me to.
